Play it Forward

We all know that a home life rich with playful movement benefits the mental, emotional and physical health of kids. But what about adults? I have been working my mind and muscles a lot lately, trying to get Fit2B Studio off the ground. It’s a lot of fun, but it’s also a lot of work. Needless to say, a morning with girlfriends was VERY high on my happy list the other morning. I had no idea that a little “playing it forward” was also on my horizon.

Of course, we all brought our laptops to take advantage of the freedom to multitask without miniature interruptions. Normally, I love twittering and facebooking, but this week I was feeling a bit burned out … until my sweet friend Erika (on the computer above) mentioned her struggle with getting her blog MishMashedMe up and running. As my focus shifted from my screen to hers, I began to feel re-energized. A mutual friend of ours snapped this photo of me swinging Erika’s baby to sleep while still coaching Erika over my shoulder.

We can turn our work back into play by reaching out and teaching what we know to others, by lifting our gaze from our own screen to that of others. I owe many thanks to two women who have done this for me: Kayla from Essential Wholesale and June from The Organic View Blog Talk Radio. Thanks for playing it forward, friends!

Your Fit2B Studio is a wonderful idea…and I wish you all the success and hope it grows. I liked you on FB and hope to follow your journey…and hope for much inspiration from you as a mom of triplets who no longer has her girlish figure. Glad to have found you on the weekend hopin party. Have a good one!

we always learn more and more with friends rather than alone. Personally, since i knew you i did learn from you so many beautiful thinks that i did not expect i will find somewhere but in your gorgeous blog where i can find the truth, yes the truth of all of us, we, mothers and how hard we are working to make our family happy!
