Taking TummySafe Fitness to the Global Stage
It was my immense honor {and lots of fun} to speak at Woman On Fire, a global event for womens health professionals put on in Brighton UK by Burrell Education in April, 2019. My presentations covered two topics:
- Authentic Puberty: Raising Girls Who Get It, based on my research and efforts in putting together the Fit2B Girls Course.
- Exploring Diastasis Aware Fitness: Post-Rehab Considerations For Exercising With Diastasis Recti, based on my specialized training and experience with running Fit2B, the world’s largest, longest-running provider of diastasis-aware workout videos.
Both of my talks were well-attended and received very positive feedback. Female puberty and diastasis recti are both hot topics involving lots of debate and confusion. I brought both back to basics, speaking clearly and candidly, telling tasteful jokes, but also getting super serious at times about what matters most: women helping the next generation of women to know their bodies even better than we do, thus improving maternal and women’s health outcomes.
This Girl Is On Fire
Yes, I dyed my hair red for this event … Hello, “fire”!!! Right before traveling to London for Woman On Fire, I also filmed 5 RED workouts for the Fit2B Color Series. If you’re a member, you can view the purple workouts here.
However, more shocking than my red hair seems to be the fact that I travelled alone and enjoyed it! People — no one was asking me if we were “there yet” 47 times, no one threw any fits, the flight attendants brought me more than enough food and beverages, I watched endless in-flight movies without any interruptions, and I got to wander around the Tower Of London and the nearby Tower Bridge at my own pace. Sure, I had jet lag, but I also slept alone! Divine!
Please PLEASE have me at your next event so I can do it all again. You just have to promise to take as good of care of me as Burrell Education did, paying my speaker fee and putting me up in a hotel with food included. 😉
Bethany Learn is a GLOBAL SUPERSTAR in the world of Women’s Wellness with her heart-felt and hugely intelligent company, Fit2B. She truly walks her own path in ‘doing what’s deep and right’ for the women she serves. She’s a massively respected member of the women’s health online community and transcends the title of Pregnancy/Post Natal fitness and wellness education by a country mile. She’s a woman doing ‘purpose-driven’ work and it shows!”

Making Core Connections
It’s so amazing to be part of such a massive gathering of professionals who are passionate about serving women — the entire woman — not just bodies. Woman On Fire had “Authenticity” as its central theme, and I know we all walked away with more tools in our toolboxes + we felt empowered emotionally, physically, and spiritually to continue the hard work that we do!
That’s me with Susan Clinton of Embody PT and Shelly Prosko of PhysioYoga, two amazing women who’ve agreed to be on future Fit2B Radio podcasts!
My favorite thing about speaking:
All the other speakers! I made so many beautiful new friends and connections for future blogs and podcasts. The sessions I attended at Woman On Fire included the following:
- Enhancing Pelvic Health through Yoga with Shelly Prosko
- Using Touch Sensory Stimulation to Improve Cognitive & Movement Coordination with Dr. Emily Splichal
- Functional Pilates for Fascial Fitness with Lucy Pollard
- From Grief to Grit: Essential Tools for ‘Holding Space’ for Clients Going through Loss with Sofie Jacobs
- Animal Flow with Richard Scrivener
- Postnatal Programming Like A Boss with Jenny Burrell
- Core Rehab Focused Pilates For The Postnatal Client with Steph Grey
Okay, I also really REALLY enjoy speaking. Being in front of crowds has never fazed me, and I truly enjoy reading crowds and responding to them — which is rather important as a group fitness instructor! And did I mention I won many awards on my high school speech & debate team? 😉 Be warned, though. I’m not one to just stand there. I’m a mover and demonstrator, and I’m just as likely to hop off the stage as stay on it.
