Beth Learn /// Founder of Fit2B
As the founder, CEO, and main instructor of Fit2B Studio, Beth has worked tirelessly since 2010 to integrate diastasis recti awareness into mainstream fitness styles. She has traveled the world as a speaker and educator, and she has fostered world-wide collaborations for her Fit2b Radio podcast and online fitness courses including Experts In Diastasis Recti, 14 Days to A Better Neck, Get your Glutes In Gear, Comforting The Core, and many others on Fit2B. Beth has been immersed in the fitness industry since she began working in athletic clubs in 1995. She became a certified group fitness instructor in 1997 and received her Bachelor of Science in Exercise & Sport Science from Oregon State University in 2001. She has trained and certified in a wide variety of fitness specialities since then including: Yoga, Pilates, hypropressives, aerobics, spinning, weightlifting, prenatal/postpartum fitness, and restorative exercise. Beth is happiest when she’s helping people understand their bodies, overcome their fear of fitness, and learn how to move in freedom and simplicity.
Kelly Dean /// Physical Therapist
Kelly Dean, MPT is a Functional Core Rehab Specialist and the founder of The Tummy Team. She received her Masters of Physical Therapy in 1997 from the University of North Dakota. Kelly has spent her career specializing in neuromuscular rehabilitation and functional integration. For the first 10 years she worked in brain injury, stroke and neuro rehabilitation. For the past decade she has used that experience in working with diastasis recti rehabilitation and functional core and pelvic floor rehab with The Tummy Team. Kelly has developed a holistic and comprehensive approach to restoring the core in very practical and meaningful ways. She works with men and women of all ages around the world through her online programs and trains professionals worldwide in her approach. Her passion is to help people be strong and pain free for the life they were meant to live.
Gráinne Donnelly /// Advanced Physiotherapist
Gráinne Donnelly is an Advanced Physiotherapist and Team Lead in the NHS and private practice. Her specialist interests include diastasis recti, postnatal exercise and ultrasound imaging in pelvic health. She is currently involved in research projects in all 3 interest areas. She is on the Active Pregnancy Foundation clinical advisory board and is an associate member of the Perinatal Physical Activity Research Group at Canterbury Christchurch University. She is a full member of the POGP and is currently completing a masters in Advancing Healthcare. She also co-founded a non-profit cancer rehabilitation service in N. Ireland and co-authored returning to running postnatal guidelines and its associated peer review published infographic. Gráinne is our research partner here on Fit2B, and we are looking forward to publishing our results with her soon!
Inemesit Graham /// Personal Trainer
Inemesit Graham is a Pregnancy and Postpartum Athleticism Coach, PopUp Pro, Bodybuilding and Senior Fitness Specialist based in Yellowknife, Canada. She not only educates on training practices with diastasis recti and umbilical hernias, Inemesit also weightlifts and does high intensity training with her own 6 finger diastasis recti and large umbilical hernia. Inemesit runs Mummy Fitness which seeks to empower and educate women in fitness through all stages of life.”
Jacob Mearse /// Midwife
Dr. Jacob (Jake) Mearse is a Certified Nurse Midwife and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in Reno, NV. Jake retired from the Navy in 2017 after 25 years of Navy medicine. He has treated patients in more than 30 countries, including deployments to Kuwait and Afghanistan. He completed his doctorate in Nursing Practice at the University of Washington, and subsequently finished a postdoctoral certificate in nurse midwifery at Frontier Nursing University. He also completed a postgraduate certification in perinatal mental health, again at the University of Washington. He completed his midwifery training at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, CA.
Jake has a passion for delivering sensitive, evidence-based healthcare to women, especially those women who are underprivileged, homeless, or mentally ill. He joined the team at Well Care to help bring quality obstetric and gynecologic care to Medicaid patients in Reno.
Jake and his wife April have been married 17 years, and have 7 children – Wesley, Cyrus, Faith, Sarah, Zoe, Patton and Benjamin. Jake is a die-hard fan of the Seattle Seahawks and the Washington Huskies.
Dr. Susan Clinton /// Women’s Health Physio
Susan is an award-winning physical therapist in professional achievement and co-owner of Embody Physiotherapy and Wellness in Sewickley, PA. Susan is board certified in orthopedic and women’s health physical therapy, a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Therapy, and a board certified health and wellness coach. She is an international instructor of post-professional education in women’s health (including GI issues in women), orthopedic manual therapy, and business psychology. She is on faculty at Andrews University in the Doctor of Science in PT program, a Master Coach for the Integrative Women’s Health Institute, and a clinical faculty instructor for the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy. She is an adjunct faculty at many other universities and is an active professional/clinical mentor. Susan is the co-founder and board member for the foundation: Global Women’s Health Initiative. She is also the co-host of the 5 five-star podcast, “Tough to Treat,” the guide to treating complex patients, and “The Genius Project,” reframing the treatment of persistent musculoskeletal pain.
