WEEKLY CHALLENGE:Β
Go for a total of 5-6 energetic Fit2B videos this week! Keep in mind that you may feel tired the day after doing a high-energy workout, so be prepared to alternate the style of workout from day to day. For example, you could do the featured routine today, then a cardio routine tomorrow, and something else from the list of parallel workouts below the day after that. This is called “cross training,” and it will use your muscles in different ways and enable you to accomplish more while also feeling like you’re not pushing super hard each day.
Have you ever tried a cardio drumming workout? Hereβs how my first experience with it wentΒ
I walked into the room full of women in workout clothes at the weekend retreat I was attending. Someone I’d never met handed me two wooden drumsticks and a permanent marker. Then she told me to write what I was fighting for on each one. I have two children, so I wrote one name on each drumstick. Then the music started, and I lost myself in the rhythm and drumming.
As soon as it was over, I knew I had to bring this style of cardio to you, so I began studying it and puzzling out ways to make it more tummysafe since there’s a lot of bending over. However, making progress with your core right now is NOT about avoiding things; it’s about strategies to engage in those things.
This fierce full-body workout loops a battle track of music through every pattern, and when itβs overβ¦ you will feel ready for anything.Β

Moving (odd) Thought:Β When I was in college, I got to apply Einstein’s energy equation to moving bodies in my biomechanics class. We got to use amazing technology that videoed athletes and let us pinpoint their center of mass. I learned a lot about how the laws of motion apply to exercising, but I always get a big hung up on the concept of another thing Einstein said: Energy cannot be created or destroyed. As a woman whose energy seems to ebb and flow along with my cycle, I have to wonder about that one! If it’s not being created or destroyed, then what on earth is happening to it? Okay, I guess my energy is going into shedding my uterine lining or ovulating, and when I’m pregnant it goes into my babies who take it and never return it!! LOL!Β

Wow! Black Battlesticks was a welcome workout. I needed the cardio, but my hands started tingling from beating the drumsticks around 15 minutes. I set them down and kept going just wiggling my fingers and moving my arms the same as the workout. Nice way to end and cool down too.
