WEEKLY CHALLENGE:Β
Do a total of 4-5 Fit2B videos that you find interesting, including the featured routine as your priority. If your energy is increasing and (or) you’re in the follicular phase of your cycle, then your creative juices are likely also flowing. That makes this the perfect time to try new, interesting things that make you get a little creative.Β
Parallel “Interesting” Workouts:
Here are more workouts that I think you’ll find interesting. You’re not required to do all of these this week. You can if you wantΒ to, but this list is more for ideas andΒ inspiration. Use those creative vibes while you have them!
Weird Weights – for the “interesting” objects I’m lifting
Mermaid Mojo – for the “interesting” variations of a common movement
Basic Dance Aerobics – for my “interesting” first foray into teaching dance and how silly I get
Catching Connections – for the “interesting” ways to use a ball to wake up your brain and body
Mexico Flow – for the “interesting” backdrop of the beach in Ensanada, MX (found only in our Exercise Around The World Course)
Moving Thought:Β Have you ever noticed how something new and interesting can either be motivating or demotivating? If it’s too new and interesting, then you might feel overwhelmed and not try at all. But you’re bored, Β you might quit. I suppose that “making things more interesting” is a central focus of mine as I approach creating new workouts. There’s only so many ways to move our bodies, yet … maybe that’s wrong! Because I keep finding more, especially when I play with what we use while we move. Nearly anything can be turned into a fitness prop, and moving different things required different movement strategies. The way I would need to lift a log is NOT the way I would need to lift my child. Even if objects weigh the same amount, our strategies for moving those objects will shift based on their shape, texture, center of gravity, gripability, and many other factors. My job is to create fun, interesting workouts for you that don’t overwhelm you, that don’t hurt you, that do make you stronger, and cue them so that you know how to integrate your core and pelvic floor in functional, safe ways. And I haven’t run out of ideas yet!Β
