WEEKLY CHALLENGE:
Do the featured exercise routine, or swap it out for one of the parallel workouts…. or do all the workouts! Whatever works for you and your week. Hold your plans loosely and don’t ever EVER ever get sucked into the “all or nothing” mindset. It’s all or something. I say that a lot. I’m going to keep saying it: All or something is how you build consistency and avoid quitting. Because you can always do a little something, right?

Here are some more routines toΒ thatΒ specifically focus on exercising the heart and stretching open your heart-center. These are great for lower energy weeks when you want someΒ lighter work but also need to stretch.Β

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for women in the United States, killing 299,578 women in 2017βor causing aboutΒ 1 in every 5Β female deaths, according to the CDC. Smoking, physical inactivity, and diabetes are the most commonly listed risk factors for heart disease.Β However, women who exercise, donβt smoke, and donβt have diabetes may have these lesser known risk factors:
- Breath holding patterns during stress
- Loss of estrogen during peri/menopause
- Chronically tight chest muscles
- Core dysfunction (i.e. Diastasis Recti)
- Cynical mindset
