This was the final lesson I wrote for {the first version of} this course. I really pondered what word to use because I’d already used almost my whole list, and the words left on my brainstorm page weren’t inspiring anything in my writer-mind. I kept looking at the list of existing lessons, considered the 4 phases of the female menstrual cycle,Β wondered what was still needed, what was missing, ran through the alphabet song in my head to see if there were any missing letters (yes, I tried to have one for each letter except ‘X’ and ‘Z’ which stumped me)… just imagine me sitting in front of my laptop, humming the ABC’s, staring off into space, looking like a loon!
The question I asked myself this morning that led to the name and theme of this lesson was, “What is something I always feel like doing that’s not on this list?”
FIGHT!!!
As soon as my period is over, I’m ready to fight for myself again in the follicular phase. As I ovulated, I find myself ready to go to bat for my kids and friends, seeing needs all around me, and taking action. Luteal phase has me super sensitive to every sound, bright light, undone chore, unaddressed issue, and ready to go to the mat with my whole family over {sometimes} dumb stuff.Β This is why this lesson has 3 different heart codes.
I continue to learn how to channel this “fighting” energy in better ways, and it’s typically {always} better to push weights instead of people, throw hands during cardio instead the crazy person who cut me off in traffic, and kick the air rather than my husband’s shins.
And the wonderful thing about burning off my angsty energy with workouts like this one and its parallels below is that the hormones released while exercising counteract the rushing in my head, leave me calmer and clearer on what I really need to do about whatever was making me mad. The discipline and focus of the movements translates to better discipline and focus in other areas of my life.

Here are more workouts I’ve filmed that contain punching and kicking motions … actually I think there’s quite a few more, because kickboxing moves show up in quite a few of the workouts I’ve filmed over the years, but these showed up first when I google searched “fit2b kickboxing.” Yes, I use google to find things on my own website. When did it get so big??? Someone needs to tell the person in charge that she can slow down a little bit while we all catch up πΒ

And you’re right. You are worth the fight. So fight hard.Β
